Ensuring services of care, protection, rehabilitation and development of children are provided efficiently and effectively.

UNIT INFO

1.INSTITUTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN POTENTIAL UNIT

i. Plan, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and activities related to child development, vocational training, academic, religious and personality

ii. Plan, coordinate and evaluate religious and moral programs for children in institutions

iii. Plan, coordinate and evaluate academic programs and skills training for children in institutions

iv. Plan and coordinate vocational skills program in line with the Malaysian Skills Certification Program in institutions

v. Plan and coordinate module / curriculum-related programs for children in institutions

vi. To coordinate programs development of children’s potential with NGOs, the corporate sector, statutory bodies, especially regarding Corporate Social Responsibility program with the department.

2.REHABILITATION AND SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR CHILDREN UNIT

i. Plan, coordinate and monitor the management of cases of children who are involved in moral danger, immediate protection, criminal and uncontrolled in institutions and in the community or region.

ii. Inspection and monitoring activities and programs in rehabilitation institutions

iii. Coordinate the appointment of members of the Child Welfare Committee of the Regions (JKKD) and monitor program activities JKKD.

iv. Coordinate and oversee the appointment of a member of the Board of Visitors of Rehabilitation Institution.

v. Plan, coordinate and monitor the rehabilitation program based on smart partnerships with government and private agencies

3.FUNCTIONS OF EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT UNIT      

i. Registration of TASKA

ii. Coordinate and supervise the implementation of Permata Childcare Courses

iii. Coordinate usage of EJKM system using modules JKM TASKA / EZ2Care and NCDC

iv. TASKA 1Malaysia

v. To coordinate the implementation of Permata Q for nurseries registered with JKM

4.CHILD PROTECTION UNIT

i. Coordinate management, and program activities in the Children's Home (RKK) and Rumah Tunas Harapan (RTH)

ii. Coordinate and oversee the appointment of the Board of Visitors RKK and RTH

iii. To coordinate and monitor the cases related to abuse, neglect, abandonment or exposure of children to dangerous situations by AKK 2001.

iv. Coordinate and monitor case management, records and placement of foster children (section 31 AKK 2001)

v. Coordinate case management compliance with section 35, AKK 2001

vi. Coordinate case management under the Anti-Trafficking of Persons and Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 (ATIP)

vii. Plan, monitor and coordinate the Child Protection Team (PPKK) and the Children Activity Centre (PAKK)

viii. Coordinate and oversee the appointment of the PPKK

ix. Coordinate and monitor the registration and citizenship cases of children in JKM children's Institution and RTH

x. Plan, coordinate and monitor Children Witnesses program
